Oh, I had mistaken the top picture as pic 1.. which would've made more sense.

The top picture with the rear as exhaust would be better.

Hello, so I have my NZXT case (as in title), and a big heat sink for my processor (SilentiumPC Fortis 3). The bad thing is, my rear fan is nearly touching the heat sink (like on the picture). And it blows inside the case (Pic 1). The temps are unusually high (86*C load - 4790K @4.4Ghz 1.263V). Will the 2 fan setup (Pic 2) change anything? Will it provide better airflow? Any ideas? Thanks for replies!

Pic 2 should provide better airflow for GPU and CPU. Expect both to drop a few degrees. However it would still lower temps of pretty much everything.

CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.91 GHz RAM: G.Skill 4x4GB 2133Mhz DDR3 GPU: AMD HD 7970 3GB SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 500GB PSU: Corsair HX620W  Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 Case: Phanteks P400 Tempered Glass (Black) Monitor: Dell P2412H, Dell 2012H Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Classic Mouse: Logitech G203 Prodigy HDD: WD Black 3TB

So as I thought, I'm thinking about liquid cooling also, so space wouldn't be a problem then. However my fans will arrive today so I'll check how Pic 2 setting will perform.

How is it blowing inside of the case if the fan is positioned as an exhaust?

yeah, definitely have that fan exhausting, right now it's fighting your cpu cooler and pulling the PSUs heat exhaust
