I'll try and keep this short and sweet. I'm looking to upgrade for the first time in a long time (5+ years) and glad to see things haven't changed too much. I'm looking to game again, hence the upgrade. I'm going for a bang for your buck type set up. I'm not afraid of spending some $$$, but unlike my younger days I'm not interested in buying the most expensive thing just because it's the most expensive or because it gives me a tiny bit better performance. So with that said, tell me your thoughts on my part list below. Is there something slightly more in price, but a lot better in performance? Or perhaps for a slight hit to performance, I can save a good bit on the price?

Below are the parts and the prices (in Australian dollars FWIW):

Case: Corsair 450D - Price: $165
CPU: i5 6600 - Price: $309
MoBo: GA-Z170-HD3 - Price: $178
SSD: Samsung Evo 850 - Price: $205
RAM: Corsair Dominator - Price: $115
GPU: GTX 970 - Price: ~$500
Total - Price: ~$1472

EDIT: It actually posted. Yay! First time I lost my whole post..anyways I forgot to add thanks for any tips you can give. It looks like there's some real knowledgeable peeps in here :)

Definitely wait for the 1070, if it is as good as they say it is you will get a whole lot more bang for your buck. You could probably go with a cheaper mobo since you won't be overclocking that CPU.

Z170 motherboard for a non-k cpu is like throwing away money, you don't do it. Either get a h170/b150 motherboard or a i5 6600k

EDIT: Also, get a GTX 1070, it's dropping in June

Wow wasn't expecting so many responses so quickly. Definitely will wait and see for the 1070 now that you guys mention it. Thanks for all the input!

BringBackLCT, could you elaborate on why Z170 would be a waste? Is it just an overclocked orientated chipset as opposed to a regular update? Thanks :)
