Is there any way to actually play dayZ without lagging? I have a i5-4440 and a gtx 970 and its lagging on lowest settings.. I could play on medium settings when I had my gtx 650..

DayZ might be better optimised for older cards.

I have this problem too, I have an i5 4590 instead of 4440.

make sure your drivers are uptodate if they are try downgrading (newest drivers crash some of my game ex: black desert)

Dayz has always been a laggy game, regardless of setup. Some people suffer with HUGE lag, some people don't. It's just a POORLEY optimised game I'm afraid

Try the experimental branch. The FPS is so much better. If you right click on DayZ in your steam library, go to Betas and choose experimental you can play it.

yeah mine ran better with my old gtx 770/fx 6350 now with an i5 4460 and 970 it runs like poop in lowest settings too

Install 0.60 experimental for 80+ fps everywhere

Well Stable Dayz version is poorly optimized so its not your Computer issue, its the game's bad optimization. You should try 0.60 Experimental, people are getting nice improvement in FPS.

Try launching the game in windowed mode. I think you can put -window in launch options? if that doesn't work you'll have to change it in your config file. If that doesn't work i'm not sure.  But that's why it's experimental

i tried to play experimental but i couldnt play on any servers..
