would there be a big preformance between an ivy bridge celeron and a core i5?

i got a laptop and it appears the cpu is compatible so i was going to switch them, i mainly program and play diablo while away from my desktop

I would not try to switch the CPU on a laptop especially with that big of a gap, generally the laptop cooling is only barely sufficient for the CPU it comes with.

it appears there are other versions of my laptop with this cpu, i would imagine that they use the same cooling system

when they make a wafer of ivy bridge cpus the ones closest to the center and get turned into i3's i5's and i7's and sometimes extremes. celeron and Pentiums tend to be on the outside, thus lower end in performance

work it ᕙ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ᕗ harder, make it (ง •̀_•́)ง better, do it ᕦ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ᕤ faster, raise ur ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ﾉ donger

ᕙ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ᕗ HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, DONGER! ᕙ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ᕗ

What a troll question.  The guy clearly has a decent rig and he's asking a most basic question like that.. Bravo?

refering to your comment yes it was in a way test i just wanted to see how the members would reply to simple questions, i have been on to many forums where people are rude and ignorant and i can honestly say this is one of the best one's i have been on the members are quick to answer, 9/10 solving the issue and doing so in a nice polite manner

Interesting approach.  Never thought about testing the waters in a new forum like that.  I find this community to be an interesting one having been part of communities of different types.  I can say this much, it's a different bunch than the ones that hang out in the YT comments. :-P
