Internet Issues!

Terrifis

Hey guys, so I can't connect to the internet on my Windows 10 PC over wifi. I've tried swapping out my internet adapter to no avail. I've tried reinstalling driver. When I plugged in via Ethernet (which cannot be a permanent solution), it connected fine. So basically I'm left with the idea that there's something wrong in the communication between my router and my PC. When I am connected over wifi, I'm connected with the router fine, but there's no internet access and it says "unidentified network". Do you guys have any ideas?

Thanks a million,

Lloyd.

Can you access other network devices/locations? Do you use static ips? can you connect other devices to the wifi?

a common issue is an ip address conflict

Check adapter settings in the ipv4 and set it to automatic or change it to something static, there are some youtube how-tos on this another option is to manually enter the ip and mac addresses into the router if it allows

Other devices connect to the wifi just fine, I haven't tried other locations (but I have tried plugging the router in elsewhere). The ipv4 is set to automatic, I'll check out those YoUTube how-tos. Thanks for the advice!

Can you open cmd prompt and type 'ipconfig /all' and paste the details here.

Sounds like it may have not configured the DNS

Also in cmd prompt, can you try 'ping 8.8.8.8'

Thank you all for trying to help me! I guess Ethernet is a permanent solution, I went to Currys this morning and bought an ethernet internet bridge that routes the signal through the walls of my house. Now I have faster internet, I don't have to worry about drivers and best of all it works perfectly! Thanks all :)
