CPU Cooler?

Telebubbies

Hey guys! I am building my new PC right now and I have a 1151 motherboard and a Cooler Master Hyper 212x. The bracket that I put at the back does not want to go in the same place as the holes on there motherboard is.

Anyone know why?

It should have come with two sets of bolts, IIRC. Try using the longer set.

You are doing something wrong, for sure

If it is compatible with 1150, it is with 1151, same mounting

On the box it also does not say 1151..

The entire 115X series is compatible since the socket size is the exact same, the only difference is pin count.

It does not matter, 1150 and 1151 use the same exact mounting holes

Read the Intel instructions once more and slowly.

Hey! I managed to get the thing on the back and everything. But now, I am having issues with that screw and the springs. They won't fit into all the holes in the other screws that I put it.

I put that Spring screw thingy through the heatsink and it only goes into 2 holes, then it cannot reach the others.

Hey, can you help me by any chance? My new issue: almost all the screws for the spring thing is in, but I cannot get one. It is high and when I push it down, it hurts my thumb so bad and I feel like I am going to break the motherboard!

Screw in each screw evenly and gradually instead of all the way on one side before the other.

LGA 1156, 1155, 1150, and 1151 uses the same mounting system.

If it works with...say...LGA 1155, it will work with LGA 1151.

Please, read the 1-sheet user manual.

1. Make sure the 'X' mounting bracket is in the right direction.

large.212X_1.PNG

2. Make sure the back plate is in the right direction for Intel sockets.

3. Tighten all four screws in a Cross pattern, as shown in the instructions.

If you've really, truly followed the directions to the letter over and over again at painstakingly slow pace and it just isn't working, contact Cooler Master about an RMA. You might, miiiiiiight have a warped spreader, mis-cut bracket or something equally improbable.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.
