The noctua cooler is good, although kind of ugly as balls. could replace that with something else if you want.

its not made of overclocking parts and when he upgrades this fury it will surely be with something of next gen with will consume less power.

Ya...Fury only overclocks like 50mhz

Though if the nano is around the same price, that's a neater card to buy anyways given it's size, hardly performs less as well

god forbid someone be forced to play on high setting instead of ultra, the travesty! the 980ti would be a complete waste of money on a 1080p display overall, and it's a hard buy because no single card right now can do 4k 60fps gaming at high settings, gotta wait maybe a generation or 2 for that

Although all the tests here

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sapphire-nitro-r9-390-8g-d5,4245.html

And the breakdown chart here

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-amd-radeon-r9-390-8gb-review

Show the 390 running some older AAA titles at around 60fps maxxed 1080p

Although with DX12 the 390 kind of comes within spitting distance of a stock 980ti

I don't see the problem in putting a 980 ti if the budget allows...

"overkill"

i guess what im trying to get at is to "futureproof"

a GPU especially isn't future proof, just look at where the 780ti sits nowadays, and more so maxwell GPUs because they don't gain any performance from DX12.

like an i7 2500/K is still viable for gaming, while a 780ti is starting to struggle hitting 60fps at higher settings, and it's now only as fast as a 970,which will happen for the 980ti as well, when you could have just spend half as much on a GPU and just been set for a while until a new performance per dollar mid range GPU comes out, and then you have a spare $300 or so to play with, probably on a display upgrade

the 6700K would be a waste of money, because in all likely hood it won't end up much faster than the 6700, and you end up spending more on your motherboard and cooling solution

the 390 is faster than the 970, and gets pretty decent gains from DX12, and is the display 1080p 60hz? Because you should probably throw in a display upgrade

and if you just want a bit higher end PSU than the one I posted, this would be better for the money

Ok, so that should be able to play the mentioned games @ 1080 medium to ultra and do some video editing

I find a 6600k a better deal than a 6700, since it's still very good performance and can be overclocked.

As for graphics cards I just prefer the green team over the red team. Unless you're on a tight budget I always say go green.

The 380, 390, and Fury/nano are all better choices than their nvidia counter parts, mostly due to DX12 support, and saving money on a free-sync display, the only thing AMD currently has no real compition for is an OC'd 980ti

and an i7 6700 is easily going to be a better choice overall a 6600K, especially with video editing involved, but more so because DX12 also grants better multi-threaded support, so games can finally start using 8+ threads

Benchmarks for the GPUs mentioned above
