which would be better for browsing, league of legends , swtor?  hes gonna use it for hes daily job also, which involves working with brower. theres a freakin i7HQ for like 110 euros more but he dosent wanna wait 1 month.

Both are pretty lower tier. I'd have to suggest getting the fx since it has 4 cores and he is wanting to use it for work purposes. Do stress the difference the 4 core i7 could make, though.

FX 7500P is competent though - it matches ULV i5s and i7s

ULV chips have shared TDP limits for CPU and iGPU thus poorer performance when the iGPU is doing something.

ok so the r5 255m is almost the same as the 940m. on paper. also the laptop comes with 4gb extra of ram and the only difference is between cpus. the i3 1.7ghz no boost  vs amd  1.9 and 3.2 boost

please link me the laptops - a laptop with crappy cooling can have a 980M in it and perform worse than intel HD graphics....

I have a newer Acer E5 with i5-5200U and 940m. My choice would be for the i3 and 940m. The 940m is a bit faster than the R7 265m and the Intel CPU has a bit better IPC per core which is better for games like LoL and swtor etc. 

 

The FX 7500p + R7 265m is an interesting combination but could be problematic in that it has an iGPU with the APU as well as a dedicated GPU (the 265m). You can set it up to use only the iGPU under battery power and the 265m when plugged in or you can also enable dual graphics which runs the two in similar fashion to crossfire mode. Problem is, not all games take advantage of this. The drivers could be an issue in the future and it requires extra time to set it all up as desired. 

 

With the Intel/Nvidia combo, it's just straight forward CPU/dGPU and is more convenient to use, IMO.

Go for the Z50 - it's a higher class notebook compared to the Acers. Ask @Dackzy

I have the same Acer - the E5-772G only mine is the 59VG with an i5-5200U, and 8GB ram. Got it for $450 CAD (retails for over $700 CAD) and couldn't be happier with it. Really nice build quality, decent screen and that 940m is fairly capable. 

 

That being said, of those choices, the Levovo Z50 looks to be a bit better over all. CPU and GPU are decent but the screen is 1080 and you also get 1TB and 8GB ram. Of those choices, it gets my vote.

Funny, mine has zero cooling issues. Fan barely runs unless gaming. While gaming, the GPU never breaks 60 degrees. CPU reaches the low 70's. Still well within safe limits. Not bad at all.

Ohh yeah a acer laptop is as well made as the really cheap knock of products you buy from china, they can run fine for a 1/2 year most of them m, but then it just goes down hill for them. I once asked a lot of retailers why they had acer and they said: Well it is good business, since most of them last a year and then the consumer goes out and buys a new one, I also asked them what laptop they hated the most to sell and they said: Well that can only be thinkpads, because they last so god damn long, so it's not very good for the business.

I thought ULV i7 were just higher clocked ULV i5s with more cache while ULV i5s were just ULV i3s with turbo boost no?
