I've read good stuff about Western Digital. Blue or black? Or any other HDD you recommend?

depends how much money you want to spend

blue is a good budget drive

red is better than black IMO and almost as fast

I would recommend WD, but blue or black depends on what your going to use the drive for.

 

Black is faster and better if your going to do something like put games you frequently play. Blues are generally slower and meant for storage of things like videos/pictures, but don't be misguided, games will be fine on it (but load times might be longer)

There's Western Digital and Seagate by and large. I believe Toshiba is still independent of the two but I'm not 100% on that. I like Hitachi (HGST) drives most.
