Good mic for skype/gaming

hay guys i need a stand alone usb mic for skyping/teamspeak. i looked at the snowball, the reason i didn't want it is because you have to be close for it to pick up good quality. so i'm just looking for a mic that i can set on my desk and sit in my chair and it can pick up my voice well. it doesn't need to be amazing, but it needs to be ok. the cheaper the better. thanks for all the help.

the snowball can do that

you set it down on your desk and it picks up your voice from the chair

 

the only problem is that if you have a lot of background noise it will pick that up too

just like any other condenser microphone

 

if you dont want background noise you need to use a mic that you attach to your headset, like a modmic

well for just Skype/games it doesn't to be yeti type good. is there a mic that can handle sound from further away in the 40-60$ range (im about 1-2 feet from the mic) or is the snowball just best for that price range

Really it's probably just the snowball that's your best bet, Unless of course you want to up the budget slightly like everyone else has said, Go for the Yeti or the AT2020. You could also look at Samson but I honestly don't have much if any experience with those mics

Happy to talk about anything. Tech (no duh) , Food, Everyday life & not so everyday life (with confidentiality of course)
