Windows backup

Ok, so I ripped (literally) the 2TB WD Green HDD that was inside my old Apple Time Capsule, formatted it, and installed it in my PC. It's now a backup drive, but I was wondering. After making two backups already, Windows has kept the previous backup as well. Will I have to manually remove old backups or will Windows eventually remove them on its own? I just would rather not have to keep monitoring my second drive to prevent it from filling up with a metric ton of backups of my main 500GB drive

I would assume that there is a setting somewhere that defines how many versions would be saved on the drive, maybe I'm wrong though, as I've never used Windows Backup before.

Windows Backup will managed the disk space automatically and will delete the oldest backup if the drive becomes full. The only thing you will have to worry about is if your backup data set grows past 2TB.
