Vista was a nice OS , 7 would be exactly the same if MS didn't make some of the mistakes it made in Vista ._. and Win 8 is nice too

I know that a lot of people had problems with Vista but personaly I don't think it was that bad since none of the problems that everyone was moaning about ever applied to me... the only thing that seriously annoyed me was the fact that the god damn thing had an update nearly every minute xD

I liked 98, xp, and 7.

Well XP is not maintained anymore so its going to become a ramshackle house with the windows broken soon. Even my school switched to 7 over the summer, great choice in my opinion.

I had no problems with Vista. Ran it for 3 years until I upgraded to 7.

I also ran vista, from day one in fact. The only problems I ran into were not haveing drivers for some stuff and some programs not being compatible. Both were a semi big thing initially but programs got updated pretty quick, somenof the drivers however didnt come out until win7 was released. Neither of these things were microsofts fault.

Does anyone actually remeber spefically why it was so harshly hated by so many?

I think it's because a lot of the OEM manufacturers slapped on "windows vista" stickers on the side of new computers that were NOT ready for windows vista. Being that most people buy budget computers from places like WalMart and BestBuy, that's probably where a lot of the backlash came from. Too bad the OS was just fine.
