i5-4460 or i5-4590 worth the price difference?

Hi guys,

 

Currently here in NZ Intel i5 4460 goes for about $315 give or take and the i5 4590 goes for about $335.

I'm wondering if its even worth getting the 4590 over the 4460 and if its even worth the extra $20?

For an extra $20, I would go for the 4590.

You can spend that 20$ on a better GPU or higher capacity SSD

@Darell3 i would agree with @don_svetlio i would purchase the i5-4460, the only reasoning i could give is this if you cant afford a Z97 and a i5-4690k just do a B85 and i5-4460. hey before buying the i5 go check in your local store if there selling a Intel Xeon E3 1231-V3 if this is cheaper ill go with the Xeon.

Sadly i5-4690k is hard to find nowdays been searching for a bit. I would definitely go with that CPU seeing im getting a Z87 Motherboard off my mate for cheap.

Then go look for the i5-4690k this would be a great benefit for you in the long run, i will last for a long time just take good care of the chip even if you did not win the silicon lottery. If you can get a Z87 then go but that just in case save more money for a new MoBo only if the time comes.

No, the i5 4590 is aimed more at businesses than consumers (comparing the feature set).

Well Idk if he has already bought the 4460 or not but the FX-8350 matches in nearly all games, is probably cheaper, and he all ready has mobo.....

Yeah It would be cheaper but I want to try out the Intel side haha. I'm going for stronger single core performance seeing games like ArmA3 need.
