Freesync for 1440p/390X

ThatsMyGamer

I am planning to build a mid-range ($900 plus OS, optical drive, mouse, and montitor) build using an AMD FX-8320 and an R9 390X. I'm planning on gaming in 1440p and was wondering if I would need a FreeSync monitor as the cheapest 144Hz model is $400. Any help?

Well, problem is a FX-8320 will bottleneck a R9 390X. Your going to need a CPU with a little more horse power.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

I plan to OC. Will this remove the bottleneck?

Is the $900 the tower itself? Or does it include the price for the monitor, os, and dvd drive and such?

It says nowhere that it´s not a bottleneck.

Most people never want to admit to bottlenecks. Especially in a new build.

The fact of the matter is that the 8320 came out in 2012.

If you want cheap, you can get a non-K Intel CPU and an H branded motherboard and still get +25% frame rates.

As for your question, you don't *need* freesync, although it's very nice to have. At your budget, I'd advise against it, unless you get a 1080p monitor (specifically the Nixeus Vue 24 inch 1080p Freesync [30Hz to 144Hz] monitor ~$250).
