Pascal release date

Hey guys! I am looking for a new gaming laptop. I don't need it right now, it can wait.

Is it worth it waiting for Nvidia's Pascal?

 

The main question is,when will Pascal be released? 

 

If I'd be to buy a laptop now, I can get one with i7 6700HQ + GTX960M and 8GB RAM.

My budget is max €1000 in the Netherlands.

Pascal mobile GPUs will launch in the late summer/early autumn likely. Polaris ones should be closer in June

Maxwell is still a very decent and relevant GPU architecture; you won't be missing much by going with it now. But since you can wait you might as well hang tight, but based on what I've heard the real-world differences between the two are fairly slight. Don't get me wrong it looks sexy as hell, but I have a feeling the hype won't match the results. Just my two cents, don't wanna start a text-war or anything.

for desktop, the performance difference might be slight

but for laptop, the efficiency of the new architecture is what matters the most

Pascal will probably be available in 3 months or so, however, this is concerning laptops and you live in the netherlands (as do I) and it will probably take several more months for something worthwhile to be available here.

mobile AMD GPUs will actually be pretty good this time around.  I would wait until summer to see what gets announced.
