See if you can record your speakers directly in Audacity.

which i dont have

control panel -> sound -> recording tab -> right click empty space -> click "view disabled device" or something along those lines -> enable stereo mix

then pick stereo mix as microphone in audacity and there you go

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Yes, that's the correct way.  What do you mean you "don't have" stereo mix?  Is is just a hidden/disabled device perhaps?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

enable this, but you will hear yourself too which can be a good thing or annoying

make sure you're using headset and not speakers so there wont be echo

I think the best way would be to have two separate recording tracks - one records your mic, and the other records stereo mix (gameplay, him, everything else, etc.).  Otherwise, I think if you set your mic to "listen" or something, it will come through stereo mix as well and you can record everything on one track.  Just, you will hear yourself then and if you don't have headphones it will probably feedback (but in a laggy way)

That depends on your software.  Any decent package will offer multitrack recording somehow.
