Slimmest laptop to meet these specs?

Go to solution Solved by exercutor5,

http://www.sagernotebook.com/Gaming-Notebook-NP8658-S.html

The slimmest it can get, except no Thunderbolt 3.

Requirements

GTX 980M (or better)

M.2 SSD 256GB (or bigger)

6th Gen i7

G-Sync enabled

USB 3.1 / Type C / Thunderbolt

Looking for something less than $4000 and less than 1 inch thick. Prefer 17.3" but 15.6" is fine too.

Need a thin/light laptop since I am constantly mobile for school and work.

MSI don't go above a 970M in their apache line-up

MSI GS60 Ghost Pro is a good option but it's a 970M

Do you think the GIGABYTE P37Xv5-SL4K2 would be a better choice? I know the CPU and GPU are a little less strong, but the weight and size of the laptop is significantly less.

@HunterTTPDon't get the P3x series of Gigabyte laptops - they will NOT keep cool. Trust me = this is coming from a P35W owner. Their coolers are not up to par. Moving up to an Aorus laptop would give you a better cooler.

What do you think about the latest Aorus X7 Pro v5?

if you can afford it, go for it - All I am telling you is to avoid the P-series laptops like the plague. Chassis bowing, poor component access and throttling are all problems with Gigabyte's lower-tier laptops.

No need for 4K, no GPU is powerful enough to run 4K at high 60fps

But doesn't it make 1080p look better?

It makes it look worse - running 1080p on a 4K screen is blurry as fuck

4K is pointless but get a 1080p GS60 and that's probably your best option :D

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

If you ignore the 980M,a Lenovo X1 Carbon would be perfect. Plus, its got a 512GB m.2 SSD and its super thin and light, 10+ hrs battery
