Have you tried a hard reset if that's a option? Its usually a little button that you press with a pen or a paperclip. You could even try disconnecting the Ethernet from it and giving that a little refresh time before plugging it back in. If everything you find fails, it may be broken.

I'm assuming its a router and not just some AP

can you get to the settings (should be something like 192.168.0.1)? you'll want to be on ethernet if the wifi is an issue.

You should be able to see any error there, if you don't see any you can either tweak the wifi settings or just restart it, perhaps update the firmware.

If you can't find the settings page, you can either go into network on the file explorer and try opening the router/device or just open command prompt and type "ipconfig" and use the number of "default gateway"

Login info should be on the router

You sure it's the router? Perhaps the specific device she's trying to use the network with is the issue?

yes lol its the first thing I did man.

Lol okay, power cycling your router usually works for me. If the wifi network itself is still up, but you can't connect to the internet, try resetting your modem. I have this issue all the time with overheating and a power cycle on the modem usually clears things up.

0. restart both the pc and router.

1. Check and update the wifi driver

2. Check all other devices to see if any others connect to it.

3. if possible run another OS on the same device (if it connects its a problem with windows)

4.If any other devices cannot connect its your router settings and I suggest a router settings reset.

5.if the system connects to wifi on another OS fiddle with your windows settings?

I had this many times and it was due to my brother setting the encrytion type on my wifi to WPA from WPA2
