with 6/11 there is a 1:1 collation between what your mouse reports and your cursor movement in windows.

Below 6/11 it interpolates and above 6/11 it extrapolates (I may have gotten that the wrong way round). The way it's calculated means that above 6/11 your pointer will skip pixels. You'd be better off with pointer speed at default and raising your DPI, though 1300 should really be enough.

I use 2000 CPI (aka DPI) in Windows and top-down games (LoL, mostly, but also SC2, DIII, and the like) and 1000 in FPS games.    Except World of Tanks where I use 750 CPI.

It's been stated a number of times already but I'll reiterate - CPI is only a measure of how fast the cursor goes relative to your mouse's physical movement.  Higher CPI does not equate to higher accuracy.  Windows cursor speed settings only affect games that don't use raw input or DirectInput for tracking, but as mentioned numerous times in this thread keeping the slider at its default (6/11) for those games makes sure it's as linear as possible without doing additional adjustments like MarkC's stuff.

You just have to decrease it in the same way you increased it. Incrementally. If you're at 6/11 windows pointer speed with enhanced pointer precision off, I can only imagine how your cursor flies about the screen...

i use 400dpi on the desktop and am quite comfortable with it, 6/11 in win setting with no acceleration in driver and pointer precision turned off.

i mostly play shooters and i will normally adjust mouse sensitivity so that i can turn a full 360 with about 4 inches of horizontal mouse.

the 400dpi in the desktop thing comes from when i used to use the school Macs a lot and the mice on those have a really low dpi so i am used to draging my mouse across the pad to get to where i want. I never really have any issues with sliding off the pad because its huge but when i get the other 3 screens that i plan to pick up i might have to change my mousing habits

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

I use 11,400 but when adjusting in-game settings I do the ole' one swipe is 180 degrees for shooters. What the DPI is at in-game depends on how adjustable the settings are. Source games I can use any DPI and put my sensitivity anywhere I want because you enter a numerical value from .01 to 99 I believe. But games with a slider I'll have to fool around a little bit more with the DPI. Typically for those it's somewhere around 3000-6000. I try to keep it high for Steam overlay, etc, so I don't feel like a slug. Otherwise on the desktop I like using my fingers to guide the cursor.

I use 5400DPI for navigating Windows, but when I game I drop to 3200 (for games like Skyrim) or even 1800DPI (FPS games)
