Hey Guys,

I was looking for a free antivirus that would consume very little system resources.

Do you know any good ones?

THX!

AVG used to be good before they started annoying everyone with the pop up ads. So annoying when gaming and an AVG ad pops up, I've googled loads to try and turn these ads off for good but nothing works... I need a better solution than AVG now.

Windows 10 has a built-in anti-virus. It is enabled by default. It is called Windows Defender. It is also a anti-malware for widely known ones.

It doesn't give you the best protection, as it isn't an aggressive one, but its goals is to give you protection while being very light, and non intrusive.

Mixed with safe web surfing practices and keeping web browser and plugins, and everything fully updated, you have a pretty good protections.

If you prone to get viruses a lot, than look for other protection solution.

Windows Security Essentials won't work with Windows 10. Because if try to run the installer it'll tell you that you've got windows Defender.

FTFY :P

Smart browsing and Windows Defender works well enough for anti-virus for me. I've been using the Windows anti-viruses for a while now and they've all been lightweight and quite unintrusive.

Avast works just fine! You can turn off most annoying things in the settings. Pair that with malware-bytes. No script editor, Ad block plus and you are good to go! :D
