I am going to be building my first pc for light gaming as well as running lot's of applications at once.

The parts that I am currently going with are:

Intel i7 6700k

ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero

Corsair Vengence LPX 4x8

Intel 535 series 240GB SSD

Western Digital 2TB HDD

Cooler Master Cosmos SE

Corsair CX 650W

Intel BXTS13X Liquid cooler

Asus DRW-24 Optical Drive

These parts seem quite good, I have done a lot of research, but I have not built before. Should I change anything?

Knock that rig out of the park with extra money to spend on HDMI cables and whatever else.

What kind of weird balance is that...? Locked CPU with water cooler, giant case with MicroATX board, mediocre PSU...

Eh, maybe. I have an open mind though.

Well ill try to reason with what my build has to offer

Same processer, but its locked, so thats only like 2-3 frames loss

But i added a 390x, better than a 960 at like 80% more performance increase so that makes up for the 2-3 frames you lost

I added a bigger SSD and a good HDD

Changed PSU to something good

Case/motherboard/cpu cooler are just there as a placeholder, you can choose what cases you like/color scheme

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

I meant to put an unlocked one in there, thank you. The case was his preference, so I had no reason to change it and the PSU looked good, had full modularity, and was from a somewhat reliable brand.

I've pointed out now three times that you can put an ATX board in there that would look a lot more proper. That was the point I was getting at. The 750D has a windowed side panel and you'd suffer from motherboard dwarfism with a small motherboard in a giant case.

It was cheap and he didn't seem to care too much about aesthetics, I had no reason not to put it in. If he had said he cared about aesthetics I would have used an ATX board
