I'm so sorry I didn't check that before I posted , I meant 970 , and yes 2000 USD , thank you

i wasn't sure if I could fit the 980ti into my budget but I would love to if possible

Both of these are great builds. for an extra $100 you can move up to the i7-6700k if you wish, though the 6600k will suit your needs just fine. The only reason I say this is because the i7 has hyperthreading where as the i5 does not.

Intel i7-5820k OC'ed to 4.2GHz @1.225 V; w/ Corsair H110i GTX2x Asus Strix 980ti's; Asus Rampage V Extreme; 16GB (2x8GB) Crucial Ballistics GDDR4 RAM; EVGA 1000P2 psu

i would agree normally, but he does need money for decent peripherals. whats the point of getting such a great system without a good monitor to back it up?

this is true. I squeezed a 144hz monitor into the budget but ideally id suggest a 1440p g-sync monitor to go along with the gtx 980 ti.

What would you suggest for a monitor with g- sync and 1440 p , I have about 4 weeks before I build this due to moving out of my current appartment at the end of the month , so I can squeeze a little more cash into a great monitor , I've been gaming on consol my whole life and currently use a Xbox one , so anything will be a huge improvement , but without going into 4 k I'd like a really solid monitor

There aren't that many available with g-sync. http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/monitor/#r=256001440&A=1&sort=a8&page=1

You're looking at 600$+. But you can cut down on certain things in the build. For starters, you can get Windows 10 (Kinguin or r/microsoftsoftwareswap) for cheaper and start off with more budget conscious peripherals. Maybe get a 212 evo as CPU cooler to start and upgrade that in the future.

Wow their really isn't a large selection , I'll have to do some shopping around and research before I dive in for 600 + on a monitor , thank you for all the information , I didn't even know of these websites , I've been planning all my parts off of newegg prices
