Hey everybody! Thank you for you help with answering my questions on my previous thread (https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/56755-help-before-first-build-please/). I finally picked out all my parts and here they are:

Case - Either the Coolermaster HAF X or the Corsair Obsidian 750d (when it comes out)

SSD - Won't be buying one. I already have a SSD on my gaming laptop and will be using that.

OS Enhancement - http://startisback.com/

Mouse - Won't be buying one. Already have a Logitech G700

I am planning to use this PC for multiple things. Gaming, editing (want to start a youtube channel), Photoshop, This is my first build and appriciate any feedback on what I should improve on.  I want to get the most performance as possible. Are these components compatible? Also if you can visit my other thread at the software section and give me advice as well (https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/57995-essential-software-for-a-new-windows-8-pc/). I will be purchasing this rig in about 3-4 weeks.  I mainly want to use amazon and newegg because I get free 2 day shipping. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

get a corsair 760i, get 8gb ram and get a cheaper case(about $150 or £100 max) and then get a ssd with the money you have saved. You will not use the controller after you find out that it gives you a massive disadvantage compares to the other people playing the game.

OK, switch the i7 for i5, PSU for Corsair RM850, get 8GB RAM and switch the HDD for Seagate Barracuda. i7+16GB only if you want to do heavy editting, otherwise i5 should be sufficient.

I've updated with pcpicker.com link.

1000w is overkill.

Do you plan to sli?

Ram above 1600 won't give you any extra performance and the higher you clock your ram, the more unstable oc'ing cpu will be and vice versa.

Are you sure you need bluray?

If you're not gaming competitively, get an IPS panel for better colors instead of a high refresh rate.

I'd recommend getting a h100i instead as the stock fans are bad and getting aftermarket 140mm fans with good static pressure isn't that easy as getting 120mm's.

Caviar blacks are not worth the extra money, get a seagate barracuda instead.

Switched. Except the HDD.  I had crappy experience with Seagate.  I never had a working one (or one last for long).

When was this? If it was an older drive, you may be basing your experience off of out of date experiences.

Also, WD and Seagate are equally reliable brands.

Still Caviar Black is a waste of money, especially if you have an SSD, Caviar Blue should work. HDDs are HDDs, there is no magic behind them and all are slow, so it's best to pick the cheapest 7200RPM HDD with desired capacity you can get.

About a couple of months ago.

Either way, hdds are fragile things. Reliability has less to do with the brand and more to do with how the drive has been handled by the user or the delivery service.

Okay.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1FwnW

This is what i would get.

Dont get such expensive mobo unless you do LN2 cooling, why on earth would you pay 300$ for a mobo when you can get one half as cheap and the same high-end quality?

And i put inside a lower CAS (CL) RAM 1600MHz. After a lot of overclock you wont be able to run 2400Mhz on those RAM sticks anyway so you will have to choose between running them 1333MHz/1600MHz or running CPU at stock clocks and do i have to tell you that CPU overclock is far more important than RAM? RAM 2400Mhz will give you like 1% more FPS in games? xD

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

CPU: Phenom II x6 1045t ][ GPU: GeForce 9600GT 512mb DDR3 ][ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ][ RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ][ HDD: Western Digital Green 2TB ][ PSU: Chieftec 500AB A ][ Case: No-name without airflow or dust filters Budget saved for an upgrade so far: 2400PLN (600€) - Initial 2800PLN (700€) Upgraded already: CPU

Okay. I thought that question I quoted to referred to the SSD.  I switched it to the 4tb Seagate. Save me about $170 lol

My recommendations: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1FwA1

Sli ready, Replace the stock h100i and case fans with Sickleflows. 2 in front and 1 in back.
