WiFi won't turn on

I own a notebook which for some reason wont turn on wifi no matter how many times I push the button... Any suggestions ??? 

 

PS:Ethernet port is not functioning...:(

Can you update or reinstall the drivers?

Wifi can be toggled by the hardware button and in the OS networking settings.

If both are on, but nothing's happening, see if the drivers are installed, try (re)installing them.

I am not able to update drivers since I have no internet connection.. Any ideas???

do you have a different device (even a phone/tablet) and download it onto that.

Then, stick it onto a transferable medium (e.g flash drive or sd card) which both can use.

Then install it onto the notebook.

I thought that and installed through that method a program called driver talent. I reinstalled a program called realtek family controler which apparently is an application which controls my internet connection. However I dont know what to do....

Realtek is usually the LAN driver, not wifi. Wifi is commonly atheros or broadcom or intel. Google up your laptop's manufacturer support site and download the correct on from there.

 

Also, the hardware buttons on most laptop wont work unless you install the manufacturer's control software.
