Would it be alright if I could get some pointers on my parts list for my first build?

Problems.

You have a K part, with a really low end board, and a low end PSU, also 16gbs of RAM for an i5 is odd.

Here, just go skylake, overclocking really isn't worth it overall, maybe for 144hz gaming or productivity but that's it, and you'd probably want like an i7 for productivity anyways.

and Maxwell doesn't seem to gain anything from DX12, while AMD cards get pretty good gains, plus a 380 is faster anyways, and you're going to want a 4gb card.

you could save a bit on the PSU here going with a 550W XFX PSU, but that one's pretty solid for the money.
