As always, Intel is known for lower TDP and better performance than AMD. Is there any legacy i7 or i5 that performs the same as an FX-9590?

3770K is basically the same at stock and completely destroys it after overclocking.

 

2600K will beat if after a decent overclock.

The i5 2500K at 4GHz isn't far behind an FX 8350 at 4GHz multi threaded, and any Sandybridge i7 at around 3.3-3.5GHz will be faster single threaded and multithreaded.

For multicore performance, it'll be on-par with an i7 4770k. But for single core performance, it'll be on par with an i7 980.

Multi-core wise the 8350 is actually superior to the 2600K and 3770. The i5s can't even compete.

In both - the 8350 is newer than the 2600K and MCC is vastly superior to HT. Even though the cores aren't full cores they are still 30% better than Hyperthreads
