Except Meijer sucks. They never have what we need. They are always out of shit. At least at the Belleville location.

We live in Romulus, We do all our shopping in Belleville, because Romulus doesn't even have a grocery store. We started shopping at Kroger on Michigan Ave and Walmart.

Honestly, idk why the UP as I guess Michiganders call it is part of Michigan. Might've been some kinda feud between Wisconsin and Michigan in their early days. Idk, I just know it'd make more sense for it to be part of Wisconsin. I hear the UP is the better part of Michigan  or at least the prettier part.

Never been to Michigan so I wouldn't know.  lol

 

 

I think it might have to do with natural resources.  There's a lot of copper or coal in the UP I think.  Definitely a LOT of timber.  Maybe other stuff idk for sure.

 

I think Michigan got the UP to appease them about losing something else.  Territory or valuable resources elsewhere.  Just a guess though but I have the impression I'm at least partly right.  Like I heard about this somewhere.

I love Kroger, my only complaint is that they are pretty limited in anything other than food or basic home/auto supplies, though there are other places I can go for that stuff. (Like Meijer or AutoZone)

We've got probably a good 8-12" on the ground right now, hoping the temperature drops a few more degrees than the forecast says, and the wind picks up a few miles per hour more, that way the wind chill goes below -25f and school gets cancelled!

When I was a kid, we could have a foot of snow on the ground and still would have school. If the school board could get to the job, then school was in session. I hated it. My mom was nice and gave me and my sister a skip day once a year. So it was like having a snow day. Lucky for me, the bus stop was right in front of my house.
