I must say, its slightly amusing to me, after months of people saying how much better Vive would be than rift, as Oculus was funded by the 'evil' Facebook and the Vive was made with the 'godly' Valve. Everyone seemed to completely patch over the fact that the hardware was being built and managed by HTC, a company with infamously bad customer service, and having never shipped anything on the scale of VR. And more consumer horror stories are appearing from the Vive.

The launch of VR hasn't gone great for either company, but its far from the one sided race people were predicting a few months back.

Well I've just received my update email from oculus. My Ship date has slipped from 'May' to the end of June. I preordered within the hour of it going live. I was not expecting to wait this long, but not a lot I can do. Sucks though. Anyone else get their update ship times?

No wonder they gave people free shipping ^_^

You got an email after your order that says april, may or june. You will get your vive 100% in that month that is written there. Nobody has ever promised you a vive on day one.

I got my vive a few days ago. Just wait... I dont know why you are thinking that you are getting your vive so soon but there are arround 15.000 people who ordered in the first 10 minutes and only about 10.000 vives shipped.

Well finally a glimmer of good news for us Rift buyers still waiting. Some people are receiving their order significantly quicker than the delayed date that was given. They still haven't taken any money from me though so I know mine hasn't even shipped yet. But at least there's a chance it 'could' come sooner than expected.  I wonder if they manage to get a second supplier for the parts that were holding up orders
