Upgrade my GPU or CPU? (Gaming)

clarkycal

Current CPU: i5 4690k

Current GPU:  EVGA GeForce GTX 760 Superclocked ACX Nvidia Graphics Card - 2GB

Now i was thinking about upgrading the CPU to an i7 4790k but i heard it doesnt really help in gaming, so if i wanted to help FPS and Performance within gaming i should upgrade my GPU? and to what? (around  £200-£300)

Here are some games i play: The Division, Arma 3, Dayz SA

Thanks.

Check your FPS and CPU usage when playing the games. If your GPU struggles, go GPU. If your CPU struggles go for the CPU.

It really depends on what resources are being used on the types of games you play.

Hi mate thanks for the reply, what is the best way to see these type of results From both the CPU and GPU?

i5 is fine at stock speeds for nearly anything.

Get a new GPU.

Seriously I can't think of single game that clocks my full CPU at stock speeds. I have never OC'd.

Your 4690k is gonna be good for a few years bro

I recommend getting a better GPU.

I like to kill hardware. In 2016 alone I have killed 20 Xeon 5160, and 10+ Pentium 4.

For the FPS use Fraps, or GeForce Experience (Under Preferences)

For the CPU you could use Task Manager

Your i5 4690K is probably fine, as far as a GPU goes.

GTX 970 (MSi GAMING EDITION)

R9 390 (MSi GAMING EDITION)

There are other manufacturers that are great choices. Both of these cards are FANTASTIC choices for your budgets. The R9 390 is a wonderful AMD choice and the GTX 970 is a wonderful nVidia choice. Hope this helps.

Thanks man, i was looking at the Gtx 970 but didnt know what one thank you for suggesting!(Most likely going for this one!)
