Well, winter is coming soon here in Canada. (Dropped below 0 C where I am a few times.) I was wondering if anyone would like to see Linus take a test bench outside sometime this winter and do some overclocks with the help of the cold.

P.S: Not sure if this is the right section, please move this if it is not.

Liquid Nitrogen is colder and still doesn't get that high

liquid nitrogen is -199/-200, and it was a joke about Canada temps.

I think this would be interesting...would he mind subjecting his hardware to that? probably not...

Well I've had my 3770K down to 4.6GHz over the summer, and the temperature is starting to go down here, so it shan't be long before I start turning mine back up to winter mode :D

Would definitely be interested to see some comparisons from Linus.

Where are you in Canada? It hasn't gotten lower than 10 degrees yet during the day where I live.

It's been dropping to 1C lows the past few days. Temps rose a bit lately, but going to drop back down pretty soon. :D

Anyways, Linus has done an outdoor showcase on an AIO cooler sometime ago. Still, it'd be interesting for him to update that and see how far he can push modern hardware.

I've thought about sticking my radiator outside my window, but the liquid might freeze if the pc shuts down :L

canada is like -272c, he could get haswell to 10 ghz.

At that temperature he could hit 6ghz on haswell, and that would be pushing it.

On a different note, what is winter?

                               Sincerely, Florida.

In need of an upgrade
