Help with a budget pc build

I am trying to build a budget PC capable of playing fallout 4 for my nephew. Problem being I'm not sure what parts to get. I have a budget of around 250ish and eBay parts definitely work. Thanks for any help!

I really don't think you'll be able to run fallout 4 on a 250ish budget.

Isn't Fallout 4 graphics intensive? I know it's using the same engine as Skyrim, and Skyrim was very laggy on my friends low end PC

I was looking at the q6600 and the i5 2400 but I can't figure out the gpu and motherboard combinations. I know the sapphire r270 I think is about $100 but I can't figure out the combinations. Also my friend is selling me a 600w psu and a case for really cheap so I can take that out of the equation.

What exactly is the psu he's selling you? And get the 7950 instead, it's more powerful for the same price.

OCed Q6600 will be fine. So will the 7950, oc it though.

Corsair bronze 80+ certified 600w he bought a quieter cooler psu and wants to sell the old one. What brand 7950 should I be looking for?

I'm going to guess a CX 600... If you must, take it. As for the 7950, Just whatever you can fit into your budget.

Check out this guide:

http://www.delidded.com/

You can mod a socket 771 xeon to fit on a 775 board. Check the guide for motherboard compatability.  The q45 and q35 motherboard won't work with the 5000 series xeons.

The xeons are much cheaper and better binned than the core 2 quads.

Also see this video:

Some of the 775 boards take ddr3.

Be very careful with the 7950. Check buyer feedback. Many amd gpus of this age were used 24/7 at 100% load for bitcoin mining.
