possibly but why? Is there a need for 144fps? anything over 90/100 shouldn't really make a difference to the average gamer

Depends on the CPU, but AMD's driver overhead doesn't really allow for high framerates.

Congrats, you intentionally misled. The OP said med-high settings and you use a benchmark on full ultra to justify your statement. There is no need to have the settings maxed all of the way at 1440p.

Also, BF4 is a Mantle game so why would OP use DX11 for it?

Lowering the settings only makes the gap larger.

Nvidia's DX11 driver > mantle for Battlefield 4. And he said 3/4, not only 4.

My R9 390 can do 80FPS with no drops at 3840x1080 Ultra settings, so you should be fine...

...but the CPU is another story. I have an i5-6600 and it barely holds out GTA V, so don't know what the i5-6600k will do for you x)

BF3 is very easy to run so I don't see  why that should be a deciding factor.

this graph is ridicolous. those are not real world settings. the anisotropic filtering at 16x is just mad and the reason why nvidia and overclocked cards perform way better than they should.

Please quote if you want me to respond and marking as solved is always appreciated.

What? Everyone runs 16x AF. That has 0 effect on performance and makes textures look crisp at oblique lines. You're telling me you don't use 16x? xD

on amd cards its quite heavy. nvidia is just better when it comes to effects. but to between 4x and 16x its not that big of a difference in my opinion.

thats the reason why on many benchmarks the 390 is better than the 970 and the fury x is closer to the 980ti

Yeah

i got 2000fps on my fury x the other day in a game menu

and 500fps playing Dreadout (the new one) on max settings

but it totaly depends on your cpu

the faster the cpu,,the more fps u will get in games before dx12

Yet overclocked gtx 980 ti's are loosing against stock fury x's in dx12 titles such as ashes of the singularity

to be honest anything above 60 fps is so buttery smooth that i'm satisfied and most with normal human vision are but if you have mutant fast response vision try overclocking your graphics card and overclock your monitor if you going above 60fps on a 60 hz monitor there will likely be tearing so unless you have a 120 hz monitor (which are expensive and you'd know if you bought one of em) try and actually increase settings till your at 60fps trust me 60 fps is way better than screen tearing

Turning down some settings like AA and few other things will easily give 144FPS.

Battlefield 3 near max yes. BF4 no unless you turn down stuff a lot. Like low-medium settings for some
