GPU + CPU dillema?

Currently have 1080p monitor. I have budget for gtx 970/r9 390 + i5 6600k or i can go with r9 380/r9 380x + i7 6700k. what would you choose?

i would get the 6700k and then upgrade my GPU when pascal/polaris is released

I would get the i7-6700k and wait to see what Pascal/Polaris has to offer. If what they bring to the table this year isn't that big of a difference, you can always get the 380x or equivalent GPU, its your call.

think that polaris/pascal version sth like r9 380 would be good for 1080p?

Looking at NVIDIA's Release plan for the past few years he would have to wait another 2-almost 3 months. I would probably do the same thing if I was to build a rig today though ... So props to you.

i have a lot of time, pc is planned for after summer :D

it sounds like you don't need a system urgently which really helps the case. Since AMD will come out with some new stuff as well I would not take a decision so early. Zen could be awesome, pascal could bebetter, or worse. Who knows. I personally would wait if I was you. Once reviewers get their first samples (hopefully this includes LTT. If not it will at least be covered in the WAN show) we will have a rough idea of what's coming. I wouldn't jump on any card(GPU) as long there are still terrible driver issues after release out there but that would be my last concern holding me back.
