I am using a usb dac,i dont actually have the usb cable yet.. but its a mini usb port

i happen to have mini usb Cable for my ps3 remote.. eversince i joined the pcmasterace.. i stopped using my ps3.

The cable is like 5 years old..

So do i need to buy a new mini usb cable? or will this sent proper audio signal without any distortions.. etc.

If i were to buy mini usb cables, any specific ones?(generally what should i look out for if anything)

Thanks Babes

If the cable still works, it will be fine. USB cables are all just USB cables unless they have the data pins/wires removed. In short, it should be fine.

The distortions would probably come by bad insulation on a bad quality cable. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work otherwise. Just try it, you won't fry your DAC don't worry :P

Have fun babe ;)

Ah

Then its probably not a portable DAC

The thing is a Amp/dac with a battery.. rechargeable

Im not sure.. batt powers the thing on(rechargable..) but whether the dac itself needs external power im not sure

What is it?

Could it me SMSL M2?

If it has a DAC and battery, hooking it up via USB should let you use its DAC function along with charging

Battery alone.. with 3.5 mm from pc to it am i able to get to use dac or no?

would assume no since ill be using pc dac in that case amirite

If its attached using 3.5mm it can only provide the amp function, and yes in that case the motherboard's dac

You should give the external dac a try if you have not already

My goodness, after using the dac from the combo, the ultra sharpness of the t70 is gone, yet the cleaniness of the hihat seems to stay as per usual.. i must redo my review one day...  *sigh*

Well thats not good.

What dacamp are you using and its SNR?

I tried looking on MSI's site for your mobo's audio chipset and they just obfuscate it with a slab of "Audio Boost"

By the way it touts a 600Ω headphone amp so you might want to try your T70 on the front audio port

Just set the headphone volume to 0 and slowly turn up, otherwise you might blow it up if its really a 600Ω amp

nah, i max my old beyer COP all the damn time (back audio port though)

The rear ports are usually not amped

You can max the COP there because its a low impedance headphone

thats interesting though, didnt know about that.. and just wierd that front ports are amped, probably something to do with the front panel power from the psu, but i did remember using my older cops on there and they sound basically the same haha

the T70 actually sounds from medium to decent loud, not blasting, but loud enough on the back audio port, but the Highs just roll off.. like the nice click on the hi hat just goes away, i assume this is bcos the headphones get loud easy, but the impedance is nonetheless still 250ohm
