980 ti overclock compare

I have had my 980 ti for a while now and have seen some strange overclocks. The ASIC quality 77% don't know if that is lo o not nor do I care. I just wanted to compare my card to other s and ask to see if I am getting good overclocks at all. I am hitting 1547mhz on the core clock and 9200mhz on the memory clock. The memory I was most astonished by because I never really tried getting it passed 7900mhz but before long I decided why not push it and it easily went to 8200mhz so I decided to make it all the way to 9200mhz and was afraid that it was dying or something. I tested it on many different programs and it has proved to be very stable ever since. The core clock is switched between two settings according to my Gigabyte OC program and it says "1547/1462" don't really know what that means but when running gpu-z it tells me that it is running the 1547mhz. So far I am very happy with my results but please compare them with your or other owners of the 980 ti so I can see what the normals and averages are like. 

 

BTW I have a Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980 ti.

I personally don't own a 980Ti, but 1547 on the GPU is not half bad.

What is the highest core clock you have seen on a 980 ti because I haven't really tested the core clock much

the highest ive seen is 8ghz on the ram and 1704mhz on the core

my asus GTX 980ti strix can do 1470mhz on the core for max OC and 8200mhz on the memory...anything higher is not stable.

you got a better than average card OP...like...a very good one.

Yours is still very good, then again many people don't overclock at all and always have a great time with their cards

1450 is considered ''good''...anything above 1500mhz is excellent.

he's probably doing Ln2 cooling or other exotic form of cooling and he is most likely dumping insane amount of voltages onto the card through a custom bios...his card will not last very long.

you can add some voltage without any damage...like +25mv or something like that...it can help with your overclock slightly...also push the powerlimit to max.

those changes will not affect long term reliability of your card...it might run a bit hotter but it will boost higher and be more stable overall.

This is what I get on mine when I have OC it and this is on a reference cooler and I just run a custom fan speed to keep the temps down my ASIC quality is 81.6. I have put my settings on there 2 too help people get a ball park figure.

What are you using to monitor those clocks, and what are you using to test it?  7900mhz on the memory is quite doable.  8200mhz is getting up there where most cards start to falter.  8800 is lightning strike territory....one in a billion.  A single needle in a galaxy sized stack of needles.  9200mhz, however, doesn't seem possible.

1547 is a pretty good overclock on the GM200 core.  Especially if you're using a stock bios.

The Maxwell architecture can easily handle 1.3v.  The stock bios limits are usually set at a max of 1.262v.  So, nothing on the voltage slider, available on the overclocking tools will hurt these cards in any way, shape, or form.  As long as temps are good, you can push them as hard as you want with the stock bios, without worry.

Holy sh*t this is on a reference cooler? How loud is the fan at 75%? And damn 71C is cooler than my GTX 970! (I'm assuming that the voltage is also at about 1.24v correct?) how do you even manage this temperature?

Yea the fan is pretty loud but I where headphones so doesn't really bother me. People really give the reference cooler a hard time but I honestly can't fault it. My voltage is around 1.23 volts so you were not far off with your guess.

1547 is a pretty good overclock on the GM200 core.  Especially if you're using a stock bios.

I use the Gigabyte OC program and I use gpuz to monitor

My Zotac Amp Extreme gets 1553mhz on the core and 9133 on the memory. At 100% load for an hour max temps were 64C
