I recently took my laptop (Toshiba Satellite L755) apart to clean out the fan and internals. In after I put it back together everything works except sound. My headphone jack on the side of the laptop and it's speakers no longer produce any sound. However, USB headphones still work, suggesting that I somehow managed to break my internal DAC/Amp? Is there maybe a simple fix for this? I don't expect that there will be but wanted to ask just in case. Thanks

Do you have time to take it apart and check all the connections are secure?

Not right now as I'm at school, but later today I could. I wouldn't know where to look for a sound connection though.

yeah, you either accidentally disconnected some cable (which i doubt) or you killed your onboard audio

you can try reinstalling drivers and checking windows sound settings just in case

Already did fresh driver installs and Windows thinks that sound is being produced (nothing is disabled), so I'll check for a cable that's pulled out. As for that forum post, the front left side of my laptop certainly does get warm so that's a possibility. I'll have to take some temp readings on the chip.

When I took my sons laptop apart I set up a small camera to the side of the table and took pictures constantly when I moved or disconnected something. Really helped as sometimes youtube videos miss out stuff.

Yeah the post may be relevant but the pictures hopefully point out the are the DAC is situated.

If ever did a full teardown I would definitely do that, but I didn't need to disconnect anything besides the keyboard and onboard wifi because I mostly just cleaned the APU heatsink. If anything else came undone it was accidental and I failed to notice.
