My PC wont start.

Go to solution Solved by DHelios,

From what I can see it should open like most cases. Remove two screws from the back that hold the side panel in place, then slide the panel back a little to remove it. Only thing to keep an eye out for, is that there are fans on the side panel. They will be connected to the system inside somewhere, so be sure not to pull the side panel away too fast. You'll want to open it enough that you can disconnect the fans, or if the cables are long enough, put the side panel somewhere close by.

Once we can get inside, we'll want to know what's in there. The motherboard make and model will help determine what troubleshooting steps we can take. Do you have it at hand?

@TheRealSamwise You can try powering down your system by unplugging it from the wall, and holding the power button for 30 seconds. Then plug it back in and try to boot it. If that doesn't help though, I think you'll need to open it up for any successive steps. So we'll also want to know:

  • How comfortable are you with opening up your computer and manipulating what's inside?
  • If your computer shows anything before it goes to the black screen with the 0, can you show us a photo of that?
  • Does your computer make any beeping sounds during start-up? If it does, we'll want to know how it beeps (for instance, 'one short beep', 'three long beeps', 'one long beep followed by two short beeps').

Your hard disk might be corrupted.

That would be the best scenario though... Your motherboard could be pretty much screwed :/

Do you know how that could have happened? I havent done anything with my pc that couldve corrupted it, plus the same thing happened last night but i eventually got it to turn on.

You don't have to do anything wrong to corrupt a HDD, sometimes these things happen. When your booting up, push F2 or Del lots of times to go into the UEFI. Does that work?

The first option didnt work, i am comfortable enough with manipulating the insides of my pc the only issue is i dont know how to open my new pc as i bought it pre built, i can get photos of what comes up prior to the black screen and there is no beeps or anything of the sort.

Any case can be opened, prebuilt or no. We'll just have to figure out how. If you can list the make and model we should be able to figure out how that particular case opens.

No beeps is either a sign that something is messing with your system on a very base level, or a sign that your PCs manufacturer cheaped out on soldering a 10¢ speaker onto the mainboard. Either case doesn't make us very happy...

I believe its a CiT Vantage case. Its a lot more awkward to open than i thought it would be.
