I've been using lagarith for a while now, not that I have problem with it. It's just I'm wondering if there's a more efficient codec out there that has even lower CPU overhead. Especially helpful when trying to record games that use CPU quite a bit such as GTA V, FO4 and FC4. I understand that Lagarith is very old and probably not optimized with my i7.

Quicksync? Put that video core in your i7 to work!

While nice to have available, QuickSync isn't that great of an intermediate codec and is lossy. I've had issues with editing quicksync videos in the past.
