Hi everyone. I currently have a i5 3570K with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and a Asrock Z77 Extreme4. It is currently clocked at 4.4GHz and the temps only reach about 70 Celsius under full load so that not a problem. I was a very newbie overclocker when I first overclocked it and just set my voltage to auto because that was what is was at default so I just left it. currently at the clock of 4.4GHz I still have it on auto and I haven't had a problem yet. I am just asking if it is bad to have my voltage on auto. (I have never experienced a crash while overclocking). While running Prime95 my voltages reach about 1.18V at the highest point and the voltages idle around 1.16V. From what I've read, for people to overclock to around 4.4GHz they are putting their voltages up to around 1.24. Is it bad to have it on auto? Please leave your answers/suggestions below.

run a long(24 hour) prime95 small fft test, if it does not bluescreen. you got a good chip. if it does, increase the voltage and try again.

Ok I will do that soon (I do not currently have access the that computer). Also is it bad to just browse the internet and watch Youtube while running Prime95 tests?

nop actually do that and see if anything crashes (that would mean load line calibration is need or oc unstable)

It is not bad but when you use AUTO voltage the voltage is set higher than is needed. I also have a 3570k with a OC profile of 4.4ghz but i use the offset voltage which lowers my idle voltage to lower than stock idle voltage and raises the voltage on load to around your idle voltage.  The first picture is 4.4ghz on idle and the second is 4.4ghz at load
