locked cpu on an overclocking board?

i dont think you'll need a beefy cooler for your locked cpu, but im in no position to say this

drop the 500gb ssd and get a 250gb with 2tb hard disk maybe?

i see the network card... could try getting a motherboard with built in wifi

also, not the best psu ever, get the EVGA Supernova G2 650W

Picked it up for the 3.1 Type C and at a good price. I won't even be overclocking anyways haha.

Edit: changed to 250ssd and 1tb hdd. Saved me about $10 bucks :D

Thx for the recommendation! However, I'm not really following a color scheme and I wanted the USB Type C :)

Better PSU.

You can pick out the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2 for the same price as that NEX PSU. Top of the line product with platinum efficiency.

I added the P2 as @HKZeroFive said cause it was $30 cheaper than the G2. Should I invest that extra 30 do u think?

@Moonzy Would there be any benefit for getting a 6600K, its only about $25 more than the 6600, but I won't be overclocking since I don't know how to.

to be honest, if you dont overclock just because you dont know how to

i would recommend you get an overclocking chip and board, just so you can overclock whenever you want

that is, if you have the budget

np, you should really consider it, its a ton of extra performance if you opt for overclocking

though u need to pay for the oc chip and oc board, but it'll pay out tbh

Can you provide and example board and chip that would work with my build. I'm just scared of damaging parts as a first timer. Btw my bro had a spare 1TB hard drive so that's not in the link

oh, you already have an OC motherboard

that makes it simple then, swap the 6600 for a 6600k and you're golden lol

Hahah, sweet! Will do. Thanks man! Do you got any suggestions for good videos/guides for overclocking. Or should I do my own research :3

heres my personal general guideline

1) go slow, dont ramp up the speed too fast (like x44, x45, x46..., not x40 x45 x50)

2) dont raise voltage over 1.3v until you know what you're doing

following these two rules will keep you from destroying your chip

That is what i was going to say

I like to kill hardware. In 2016 alone I have killed 20 Xeon 5160, and 10+ Pentium 4.
