Hello.  This is my first post, so please bear with me...

I was wondering how the seven gamers 1 cpu was able to have 7 people playing against each other.  Would a pc listed below be enough for two people?  Thanks in advance!

Yes. I suggest two SSDs though and maybe 32GBs of RAM so each VM can have 16GBs.

would be more than enough, tough a 5960X would be better because it has 2 extra cores, otherwise get the 5820k, since you don't need all those 40 lanes

Ok.  Thank you guys!  How do you do what they did though?  Were they playing against each other on the same computer?  How does this work?

it was basically 7 virtual computers, I don t remember if they said exactly what software they were using.

EDIT: Took me 2 seconds to go find the forum page and find out, they used unRaid software.  But maybe you should think that if you cant find out what software they used, maybe this is a bit over your head. Not trying to be a dick but Im sure this isnt the easiest thing to do. And I am speaking from experience I am currently converting 13 physical windows&linux servers to virtual servers on  a single Vmware Host, and I have had my share of headaches.

CPUIntel i5-6600k - Mobo - MSI Z170A M3 Gaming - RAM - 16GB G.SKILL DDR4 2133 -  GPU - MSI R9 380 4GB

CASE - Corsair Cube 540  CPU COOLER - Hyper 212 EVO - PSU - EVGA 1050w

Ok.  I take absolutely no offense to that, and you are probably right.  This would just be to play a game with a friend when hanging out, so it's probably just easier to play on console split screen.  Either way, thanks!

Honestly it would be easier with the budget you have to build 2 separate but awesome gaming rigs.

To add on here, I think the 900D might be excessively large.  Also, if you remember from the first video, he said each person needs unique peripherals (no two mice or keyboards can be the same) so keep that in mind

Also I believe you will need two separate displays unless your monitor has some special feature to take two inputs and display them both simultaneously as split screen, which would be cool but I highly doubt exists.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Some of the Ultrawide monitors can do that.

I think you may be right, but apparently OP is using "some random 720p monitor I randomly found" so it probably doesn't share that feature :)

The processor should be enough.  It would basically be like giving each VM an i3 once split.  I don't remember about the drives though,I thought you needed one per vmbut I don't remember.  See the video that was linked in above.

Ok, I'll be able to figure it out from here.  Thank you.
