Audioengine A5+ with Logitech subwoofer?

Hey guys!

i was thinking about getting some new speakers for my setup and some people recommended the a5+ by audioengine. They come in a pair but they dont have a subwoofer, which is  a problem for me as im mainly listening to bass heavy music. I currently have the z623 2.1 system by logitech and i was thinking if i could use the subwoofer from the set with the a5+ speakers.

thx in adance for your help :)

no you cant, the system uses a special connection to the speakers

you might be able to get it working if you use a 3.5mm splitter, one for the sub and one for the A5+

but i would just recommend buying the audioengine subwoofer to match your speakers

its much higher quality than the logitech subwoofer

Yes, it is possible, but you need to be good with electronics and soldering. You would have to make your own input jack on the sub and wire it in to the amplifier circuit.

Honestly though, the Logitech subwoofer is not good quality and would only net you a few hz in the low end and muddy the sound. Get a 10" Dayton subwoofer for $100 and use that.

I would also just buy a completely new sub rather then use the Logitech ones. I currently have my Audioengine A5+ hooked up to a Polk Audio PSW111 sub. It sounds awesome! I also prefer a more base heavy feel in my music, and the 8" PSW111 was just enough for my small room :)
