Safe to plug power strip into UPS?

I have a standing desk like Linus and want to improve my cable management. If I screw a power strip to the bottom of the desk and then the strip into my UPS, is this safe? If not, how do I get around it

The only thing I could see wrong is the power strip coming unplugged, just make sure the cable is long enough at the table's tallest point, if not, try to find a lower place to put it.

Linus did the exact same thing, if I'm not mistaken.

 

I would still be cautious about it, as anything Linus does usually is not the best idea

It's not too big of an issue if it's just a power bar that splits it, it will drain the battery backup faster is most it will do. One thing to note is surge protectors sometimes don't work well with UPS though if the power bar is surge protected as it can trip the power bar at times.

And how many cables max per outlet? I have 1 27" monitor and my PC. Would plugging a router into it make sense? Cause the internet would go out anyway

You can do it, just don't plug something like a microwave in it.

I think the UPS would be more likely to explode.

lol did you ever do those experiments where you would put random things into a microwave and nuke them for a few minutes?

 

Ah fun times with old equipment at camps. Tin foil and metal are very pretty when sparking btw..... Especially when they are lit up by a fire behind them

Yep that's always fun. Next time do it when others are around but don't realize whats happening so you can scare the s*it out of them with the *BANG!*

 

..... Hmmmmm I should try that with a couple of eggs in different states of being microwaved to have multiple bangs......
