FrozenCPU back in bussiness!

Dear Gents and Ladies,

 

Maybe my googleing skills are lacking, but i find the need to write about this (hope it's in the right place).

 

To start from the beginning:

Since Corsair made the Obsidian 250D I fell in love with it. I just had to have it. No wander when I found it half off on Black Friday last year I bought it, even though I didn't have any plans for a desktop PC. But since I bought it, I started planning. Then, my mother in law made me the ultimate Christmas present: an Asus Maximus VII Impact (guess I'm the exception that confirms the rule on mothers in law :D). And since I got this motherboard, only one thing could go with (on) it: the EK-FB ASUS M6I Nickel Original CSQ. I know that most don't like the smoked acrylic and circles, but I do. The problem is that EK doesn't make that monoblock anymore, only the black acetal version. I sent them (EK) many heart breaking emails about this but they only told me that my only hope is to find a retailer that still had one in stock. No luck in Europe (I'm from Romania).

 

But then I stumble across FrozenCPU.com (not being from the US, I never heard of them). They showed 3 in stock on the website. Tried contacting them, no one answered the phone. Started looking them up on the web and I found about all their problems.

 

But I kept on going. Three days ago, I sent them an email, asking if indeed they have the water block in stock and how can I buy it. At the time I'm writing this, if you manage to proceed to checkout on their site, the only payment option is Electronic Check. I also asked them if PayPal is an option. Keeping in mind that there is a 8 hour time difference, they replied the next day, asking for a shipping address so they can get me the shipping options available and they confirmed that indeed they have the water block in stock. They sent me the options, I called them, they answered the phone (!!!), told the guy to go with the cheapest shipping option, he gave me the PayPal address for the payment, made the payment.

 

THIS MORNING I GOT AN EMAIL FROM USPS WITH THE TRACKING NUMBER AND STATING THAT THE PACKAGE HAS LEFT NEW YORK AND IS EN ROUTE TO ME!!!

 

To sum up.

They are back in business, I hope they fix their website soon. If the item you want is showing as in stock, drop them an email. They will send it.

So guys, show some love and help them get back on their feet. I will keep an eye on this thread if you have any questions and, of course, I will let you know when the package arrives.

Though I liked the service and goods they offer/sell... I'd still be worried about ordering future merchandise if the dickhead owner still runs it.

After the crazy falling out they had, and all the money they "supposedly" still owe suppliers, I'll take my business elsewhere.

I kind of agree, but since this was my only option to get my water block, I took a leap of faith and went with it. It seems it worked out for me. I hope it arrives soon and well.

Given the damage done to the brand I cannot imagine anyone buying the company name, so must assume it is the same owner with all the same issues.

 

I certainly hope for the best, but will wait and see.

They've been in business the whole time, sans the first few weeks

 

I still wouldn't buy from them unless i had to, like you did. They're very flaky, and give store credit instead of refunds in the case of them overselling

What do you mean by overselling? Actually selling something they don't have? Wow! Good then that I called them and asked to confirm that they indeed had the piece in stock.

After a gruesome month, the waterblock finally arrived today.

F@#$ USPS, but that's another story :)

Go read  up on what happened.  He went on a drug induced bender and destroyed the shop.  Apparently intimidated employees, etc.

Fired all employees, did damage on the warehouse while on a drunk/drug rage. The workplace wasn't a healthy environment as what other employees testified. Owed multiple companies money. I think EK publicly asked the owner where their owed six-figured worth of supplies.

They never went bankrupt they have always still been there. They just owe companies like EK large I mean large amounts of money. Like in the millions

it doesn't  surprise me that they reopened I was talking to someone that used to work there and he said that the owner was bat shit crazy.
