I have a corner desk, and my monitor sits diagonally in the corner. I cant place my case behind the monitor and under the desk I hit it with my leg. In the side, where it currently is, I think it takes too much desk space. So I was planning on mounting it to a wooden board on the wall, behind and above the monitor, with the components exposed. Other than dust, what could be the issues of using it as a long term solution?

having someone touch the components and get burned or short some of the components

Possibly throwing something at it by accident and damaging parts? I can't see much of a reason why this can be too harmful. + like some other people said, it might be quite hard to do.

It would be behind a deep desk and a 32" monitor, so I think no one would touch it. Besides, no one but me, or without my presence enters my office. Where I plan to place it, zero chances of liquids spilling, things falling into it or even touching it.

PS: all the walls are bricks

I live in Brazil, one of those only in my dreams.

I thought of placing a shelf in the wall, but my system is super heavy and Im afraid the shelf would fall...

Hey!

I built a wall mounted PC a couple months ago. You can check my log

I wouldn't worry about it being too heavy as long as you get it in the studs.. your wall is brick though so not sure how well that will work..

Upgrading is... painful since you would have to drill some new holes if you need to upgrade your GPU

Make it look good and it'll look good. :) good luck!

I would make sure all components are on a single board with heavy support. It would be nice if you could include a glass cover, if not, then you better have access to an air compressor or can afford a can of air everything you clean it out.
