Not sure if this is the right place to put this topic, sorry if it isnt. I have DT990 Pro headphones and i want to start taking it with me to school, are there any good cases for it? I was looking at a the Beyerdynamic DT Bag, but it was leather with padding. I like the padding but i dont really like how its not a hardcase. Any recommendations?

I just throw my $20 headphones (Really nice build quality and sound for the price tho) in my bag folded, or I wear them to listen music on my way to school. Also, CoolBeans, what should make it a bad idea to take it to school? I'm not sure about US but over here I'm required to bring a laptop, and I don't look much after it tbh - Haven't gotten stollen yet, and noone from my class has gotten theirs stolen.

I think he's thinking that it could be stolen. Its not like im going to be leaving that thing unattended. I dont leave any of my stuff unattended for that matter anyways. I'm in college so i take all my stuff with me everywhere and i dont just dump it into a locker.

Well, here we don't have lockers and I have put my laptop on my table (We have fixed classes) and leaved it unattended for 20 min, and generally things being stolen at school doesn't seem like something that would happen - Even less if you actually look after your stuff. Although this is a wealthy europeans point of view.

I havent really heard of anything being stolen at school. Maybe High School but not really college.

Do you think it would be better to get a soft case that was padded or a hard case without padding. Of course the best solution would be hardcase with padding, but i have yet to see one that is full padding or even a hardcase that fits my headphones.

Yeah thats a bit much hahaha. They sell a DT Bag which is supposed to be built around the DT lineup which is the one i have, but looking at picture it has great padding but a very thin cover flap which is kind a huge turn off

Last post was a joke whilst I went hunting for this. I'll guarantee the DT990's fit.

I figured. I was looking at those too. Do you think it would do the job right even without the padding on it?

The DT lineup is made ruggedly, especially the Pro series. They'd be mostly fine without a case so as long as you're not intentionally throwing them around you wont need padding.

Edit: in fact, I'm so confident, I'll say that even if you are throwing them around in that case, you wont need padding.

Holy crap that is pretty damn legit. Im assuming those extra sheets are padding? Damn that is definitely something to consider. I was looking at this and this and they look really nice as well.

That is really nice to hear. I've had some relatively bad experience with some of my older headphones and i dont want to replicate that experience with my DT990 Pro. Im mainly worried because there are a lot of plastic components used in this headphones, but i guess they are really using a lot of high grade platic material

This one seems to be the most protective though I'm not sure if you would want to carry that with you to school as it is bulky and will look obscure haha :)

The entire headband is spring metal and the thick plastic pieces are screwed on with huge screws. Every piece is replaceable if it breaks, and Beyerdynamic will replace the cable or earphone (system) if need be.

If you wanted a durable headphone, you've bought the right thing.

I thnk i can fit that second case into that case you sent me haha. It is pretty Bulky, but yeah it seems the most protective out of everything. Honestly though, i think the fact that my headphones are pretty big means i cant really get a nice slim case haha

how about taking a star wars lunchbox and filling and cutting soft foam to fit your headphone

lunchjpg-c592d188bd72ef46.jpg

edit: goddamit now I want to mod star wars lunchboxes to carry everything I own

The DT990's are pretty damn big, so thre might be trouble fitting the headphones in there. Adding softfoam didnt even register as something i could do. Only question is where can i get soft foam in black haha

Edit: NVM found it Probably not the best foam to use but it is pretty damn close. I might get that $30 case from earlier then just add this in there or something.

True, at the end of the day they are your headphones that you purchased so go with whatever makes you comfortable carrying them in :)

they've made new ones for under $15 in cheezier plastickier stuff recently but the old metal ones from the 80's and 70's would be optimal
