Problem! CPU compatibility

well, im struggling with choosing those 2. should i go for the faster cpu but more money or fast cpu for low price?

Since you only have an H97 motherboard you might as well go with the in-between option which is the plain i7 4790 non-K. You don't have the benefit of overclocking thanks to the limitations of H97 boards, so why waste the money on a K sku CPU.

Unless of course you plan on getting a Z97 board later and overclocking. That's one reason I suppose.

Edit: The reason a Skylake CPU (6600 and 6700 for instance) won't work on your H97 motherboard is that they are a different socket design: LGA 1151. Haswell boards and CPUs (4790, etc) are LGA 1150.

I already have a motherboard http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Graphics-DualBIOS-Motherboard-GA-H97M-D3H/dp/B00K7807IK/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1457417725&sr=1-2&keywords=h97+motherboard

but i dont know if it is compatible with the processor I am supposed to buy which is i5 6600k. please help guys

and still i didnt buy ram

the i5 6600k needs a Z170 motherboard, not H97

No it is not compatible, since your motherboard is LGA1150 and Skylake CPU is LGA 1151, You can always go for the i7 4790k or the i5 4690k

Actually the i7 4790 or i5 4690 since I realize you have a motherboard that doesn't support overclocking. This well depend what you will be doing like editing, gaming or you those stuff

it said compatible with i3 i5 i7 cpu

how is it?

It's the generation that determines what works and what does not.

The i3 / i5 / i7 6xxx CPU's use the LGA 1151 socket, which is found on Z170, H110, etc. This is also referred to as "Skylake."

The i3 / i5 / i7 4xxx (and select 5xxx) CPU's use the LGA 1150 socket, which is found on Z97, H97, Q97, etc. This is also referred to as "Haswell" or "Devil's Canyon."
