What is a SSHD

Dhrshanv2
Go to solution Solved by BurstSMG,

It's a hard drive with SSD cache, which in turn makes it faster, and makes it faster than a hard drive, and slower than a full SSD. Also can have a lot more storage than a normal SSD, so best of both worlds. xD

It is essentially a hard drive with a small SSD cache on it that's used for the most recently used items stored on the platters.

Also, the acronym stands for Solid State Hybrid Drive.

Its a hard drive with a bigger cache than normal

all HDDs have a SSD cache

SSHDs just have a bigger one

unless you need a large drive for a laptop with only one drive bya, and you cant afford a large SSD, buying separate SSD+HDDs is a much better option than a SSHD
