Windows installation help

OK, so my buddy is trying to install windows 10 on a vista computer. It meets all system requirements, but windows is asking him what he wants to use to open the .iso file, and we don't know what to do. Any help? We don't have access to any windows disks. Please help!

That's what I'm asking. He tried just popping the SUB that has the .iso into the computer, but it doesn't know what to do with the file. Neither of us have done this before.

Alright, to install, follow these steps:

1. create bootable USB drive with the Win 10 iso.
2. Disconnect all drives in the computer except the drive your friend wishes to install windows to, insert your USB drive.
3. If the motherboard's BIOS has an option for boot options during the BIOS' boot, press that key. For my board, it's F12 during the motherboard splash screen. If that's not an option, go into the BIOS, go to boot priority, and set the USB drive to the first priority
4. Save and reboot.
5. If all goes well, he should be presented with the Win 10 installer on restart.
