Overclocking GPU does it matter?

1. Not really. I suggest MSI afterburner for all cards, Sapphire TRIXX for AMD, and EVGA PrecisionX for NVIDIA.

Not really, just preference. I would personally use MSI Afterburner.

I use MSI Afterburner with every GPU and never had any Problems with it.

Cant say much about the other Tools, never used them.

MSI AB is the best I have used for both AMD and Nvidia. Highly recommend it for all cards/brands.

No it doesn't matter as all they do is change the clock the GPU is running at. However overclocking on certain cards is quite a noticeable improvement. My R9-280x is an incredible overclocker and gets 5-9fps boost when overclocking to my max.
